Prague Flights Guide
The capital of the Czech Republic, Prague is a stunning city that has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its breathtaking historic beauty. The architecture that has stood here for six centuries is almost completely untouched, creating a magnificent outdoor museum that visitors explore on foot. But the city also boasts a very modern side, and is known as one of Eastern Europe's best-kept secrets.
In the 14th Century, Prague was one of Europe's most important cities, but it disappeared into obscurity behind the Iron Curtain after the Second World War. Now it has emerged again, with a charm and innocence that only comes from being untouched for so long. The city is beautiful year-round, but comes into its own in winter, when frost and snow transform it into a wonderland of gothic spires, and fairytale old buildings.
The city has become a popular weekend destination because of its vibrant nightlife, but even those who come to party enjoy exploring the old part of town, joined to the more modern part of the city by famous Charles Bridge. A maze of winding narrow cob bled streets and alleyways, the Old Town boasts a beautiful old town square, as well as the ancient Jewish Quarter. There's also the Castle District on the hill overlooking the city, where the castle is located alongside the Cathedral.
The new part of town is modern with wide boulevards, lots of excellent museums and shops. Culture is a big attraction too, especially classical music concerts, opera and ballet.
