One of the oldest areas in Glasgow is Merchant City, and area where monks and merchants rubbed shoulders. Its old market buildings and old warehouses have recently been refurbished. Today Merchant City is a very chic area, home to boutique hotels, art galleries, designer boutiques and restaurants.
