Cape Town Flights Guide

Cape Town

Located right on the tip of Africa, Cape Town is one of the most magnificent cities on earth. With magnificent flat-topped Table Mountain as its dramatic backdrop, this charming city spreads out around its famous harbour. Famous for its magnificent gold sand beaches, dramatic scenery and superb weather, South Africa's Mother City is a hub of activity in the summer months, with visitors all over the world coming to enjoy its many pleasures.

Spreading out along the spectacular Cape Peninsula on either side are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, including Clifton, Camps Bay, Muizenberg and Noordhoek. And as you head towards Cape Point, with breathtaking views of the tip of Africa, you pass numerous charming little seaside towns, including Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek, each offering its own special charm. Across the bay is more magic, in the form of seaside resorts like Blouberg and St James, offering views of Cape Town in all its magnificence as an extra bonus.

Cape Town itself is home to some of the best restaurants in the country, as well as excellent shopping opportunities, both at the vibrant Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, where one can pick up traditional local goods as well as international designer labels, and at charming little markets around town, including the Biscuit Mill, home to some of the best food products on offer.

One cannot visit Cape Town without exploring its history, evident in the many museums in the city as well as the historic Cape Castle, built at the Cape of Good Hope by the Dutch East India Company in the 17th Century. It's the oldest surviving colonial building in South Africa. The magnificent Botanical Gardens, close to the Houses of Parliament in the city, are also worth visiting, and other natural splendor is evident at magnificent Kirstenbosch Gardens on the other side of the mountain.
