Information on Ryanair
Ryanair is the largest low fares airline in Europe, with flights to 26 European countries covering 559 routes, often flying to destinations not covered by other airlines. It has expanded rapidly from flying 5,000 people in 1985 to 50 million currently.
Ryanair’s main hub in the United Kingdom is London Stansted airport. The Ryanair fleet is made up of Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
To enable the company to offer cheap flights, it operates on a no-frills basis. This includes having only one cabin class, non allocated seating and rapid turnaround times at airports. Passengers are allowed to check in 3 bags weighing up to 15kg in total, but there is a checked baggage charge for this. If this fee is paid at the time of reservation, a discount applies. Food and drinks are available for purchase inflight.
Ryanair encourages passengers to use online check in, and an airport check in fee is payable at the time of reservation if this option is not taken. Passengers using online check in also receive priority boarding at the airport. Passengers who do not use online check in are able to pay extra for priority boarding, although Ryanair limits the number of passengers per flight who can do this.
Ryanair does not offer a frequent flyer programme.
