Information on Turkish Airlines

Turkish Airlines is the national flag-carrier of Turkey and has its main hub at Istanbul airport. It is scheduled to become a member of the Star Alliance airline alliance in 2008. The airline currently has a fleet of 102 aircraft, flying to over 130 international and domestic destinations.

On both its long and short haul flights, Turkish Airlines operates Business and Economy classes. In Business Class, passengers are given priority seat selection, dedicated check-in and lounge access. The lounge has business facilities, unlimited catering and local and international newspapers. In Economy Class, inflight meals and entertainment are complimentary.

Miles&Smiles is the frequent flyer programme for Turkish Airlines. Classic, Classic Plus, Elite and Elite Plus membership levels are available. Benefits of membership include free flights, upgrades, additional baggage allowance and lounge access. Elite Plus cardholders may also make use of family membership, where all the points for one family are pooled. All members may earn points by flying with Turkish Airlines, and by making purchases with their travel and non-travel partners.
