Singapore Airlines is the national airline of Singapore and is based at Changi Airport Singapore. The airline operates flights to destinations in 5 continents. The average age of the Singapore Airlines fleet is approximately 6 years. The first commercial flight of the Airbus A380 was operated by Singapore Airlines in October 2007. The airline is a member of the Star Alliance airline alliance.

Singapore Airlines operates three classes on its aircraft – First, Business and Economy. The newly launched Airbus A380 has an additional class called Suites, which offers personal cabins for passengers. All classes offer inflight entertainment and meals and world class service. First Class is equipped with SkySuites, to ensure maximum comfort for travellers. The Business Class SpaceBed offers multiple seating positions and relines to 8 degrees. On non-stop A340-500 flights to the USA, there is an Executive Economy class, which offers greater space per passenger and also a lounging area to relax in.

Krisflyer is the frequent flyer programme run by Singapore Airlines and has Flyer, Elite Silver and Elite Gold levels of membership. Benefits of the programme include free flights and upgrades. Singapore Airlines also runs the PPS Club for those passengers who travel solely in business or first class. Members are required to earn a minimum number of points per year to retain membership. Priority check-in, baggage handling and use of lounges are features of the PPS Club membership. Silver Kris Lounge facilities are available for PPS Club members, Elite Gold members and those travelling on First or Business class tickets.
