Information on Lufthansa

Lufthansa is the German flag carrier with its main hubs at Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich airports. It is a member of the Star Alliance. Lufthansa operates short and medium haul services across Europe and long haul flights to other continents. The Lufthansa Business Jet flies daily except Saturday from Frankfurt to New York, which provides service at the highest level.

Lufthansa has First, Business and Economy Class cabins on its aircraft. First class passengers at Frankfurt airport have a dedicated terminal, with facilities including a personal assistant to assist passengers on arrival, lounge access and a limousine to the aircraft. Long-haul Business Class includes seats that convert to private beds, while short and medium haul Business class contains comfortable seating, with the centre seats left free to allow more privacy and space. Economy Flex tickets offer the facility to cancel the ticket for a full refund or to change flights for no extra cost. Economy Basic tickets are cheaper, but less flexible and have some conditions attached to them regarding cancellation and amendments.

Miles & More is Lufthansa’s frequent flyer programme. The programme has four levels, which are Member, Frequent Traveller, Senator and Hon Circle. All levels accumulate points by travelling with Lufthansa and transactions with their partners. All levels except Member allow lounge access, an increased baggage allowance and waitlist priority. Senator and Hon Circle members are also given baggage priority and upgrade vouchers, amongst other benefits.
