JAL Information & Services

Japan Airlines (JAL) main hub is Tokyo’s Narita airport. They’re a member of the Oneworld airline alliance. JAL offers domestic flights and international flights to 33 countries.

JAL offers First, Executive, Premium Economy and Economy classes on its international flights. Passengers travelling in First Class are provided with Skysleeper seats, which fully recline into a lie-flat bed. On some routes, Skysleeper Solo seats have been introduced, providing even greater privacy. Both Western and Japanese meals are available and specific selections can be pre-ordered. Executive Class has Shell Flat Seats on many routes, which lie flat for inflight comfort. First and Executive Class benefits include a laptop battery lending service, relaxing wear and their baggage will be given priority.

In the Economy cabin, seat back entertainment systems are now standard. Inflight meals are provided and there is also SkyOasis, a self service snack buffet on flights between Japan and Europe and North America. Passengers travelling on a normal Economy class fare are also eligible to access certain lounges. From 1 December 2007, JAL is introducing a Premium Economy cabin on its route from London Heathrow to Tokyo Narita. This will include SkyShell seats with a 38 inch seat pitch, dedicated check in and a larger personal TV screen than that found in Economy.

JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) is the frequent flyer programme of JAL. Points can be accumulated through flights with JAL and their partners and purchases with their travel and non-travel partners. The programme has Crystal, Sapphire, Premier and Diamond levels. With all levels benefits include an excess baggage allowance and priority boarding. The JAL Family Club allows mileage points for all family members to be pooled.
