Information on Iberia Airlines
Iberia was formed in 1927 and is Spain’s largest air transport group, operating in around 100 airports. It was the first airline to fly between Europe and South America. Iberia is a founding member of the Oneworld airline alliance and has its main hub in Madrid.
Iberia operates Business and Economy class cabins on its aircraft. On intercontinental flights, Business class is called Business Plus. Business Plus provides completely flat beds, the latest entertainment and communication systems and a gourmet meal service. Business Plus passengers may also order a limousine to take them from their hotel to the airport, in Madrid, Barcelona and Santiago de Chile. In Business Class, the middle seat is left unoccupied to allow passengers extra room. Both Business Plus and Business class passengers may use the VIP lounge. In all classes, there is an inflight meal service and entertainment.
Iberia Plus is the frequent flyer programme of Iberia. Classic, Silver, Gold and Platinum are the membership levels available. Benefits include free flights, upgrades, priority on waiting lists and extra baggage allowances. Gold and Platinum members are also eligible to use the VIP lounges, offering showers, business facilities and relaxation areas.
