Information on Air France
Air France is France‚Äôs national airline and its main hub is Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. It is a subsidiary of the Air-France KLM Group. As at 30 June 2007, the airline had a fleet of 389 aircraft, flying to 188 destinations in 82 countries. Air France is a member of the SkyTeam alliance.
Air France offers First, Business and Economy on its aircraft. First Class offers 2 metre long beds in a cabin seating 4-8 people, with a choice of dining at a time that suits the passenger. Business Class also offers seats that convert into almost flat beds. Economy class offers inflight meals and entertainment.
Flying Blue is the frequent flyer programme of KLM and Air France. The scheme has Ivory, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels of membership, all of which, with the exception of Ivory are considered Elite membership. Elite membership is obtained by earning enough points within a calendar year to reach the relevant threshold. All levels earn points to be converted into free flights, while Elite membership also includes priority check in, additional baggage allowance and bonus miles. Gold and Platinum levels also include lounge access. Air France additionally offers the Petroleum Club for Oil and Gas professionals.
Air France also operates CityJet for Air France, which flies to London City Airport, only 20 minutes from the City of London and 5 minutes from Canary Wharf. Passengers at London City Airport can check in as little as 10 minutes before the departure of their flight.
