Air China is the largest airline in China, with flights to more than 250 destinations, including non-stop from Shanghai and Beijing to London Heathrow. Air China is due to join the Star Alliance airline alliance in December 2007. The Air China fleet consists of over 200 Boeing and Airbus aircraft with an average age of 2 years.

Air China offers First, Business and Economy class on all of its international routes. On flights from the UK, passengers travelling in First or Business class receive a complimentary limousine transfer to London Heathrow, from a radius of 50 miles. Cabin crew on Air China speak English and Mandarin.

Companion is Air China’s frequent flyer programme, and is the first such programme to be run in China. Platinum, Gold, Silver members are all considered to be VIP members. The fourth membership level is regular. Regular members can accumulate points to receive free flights and upgrades. VIP members receive additional benefits, including access to the VIP lounge, priority check in and extra luggage allowances.
