Beaches
Most visitors to Marbella will enjoy some time relaxing on its beautiful sandy beaches. With 24 beaches, there is always somewhere to suit every visitor. Many of the beaches offer watersports and wonderful seafood restaurants. The area between Marbella and Puerto Banus is known as the Golden Mile. Nueva Andalucia Beach has a Blue Flag, and is very popular with families. La Fontanilla beach is located near the centre of Marbella, and for this reason can get very busy during the summer months. Other beaches in Marbella include Casa Blanca Beach, El Cable Beach and La Venus Beach.
Puerto Banus
Puerto Banus is one of the most exclusive areas of Marbella and its marina is a wonderful place for admiring expensive yachts and looking for the rich and famous. The area has many restaurants and seafront bars, along with designer shopping and a beautiful beach.
Marbella Old Town
The Old Town area of Marbella offers a wonderful contrast to the modern resort developments. The narrow streets are made up of white-washed houses and the area is dominated by Orange Square, where the Town Hall and Old Governor’s House are to be found. There are also many small shops to explore.
Tivoli World Theme Park
Tivoli World Theme Park is at Benalmadena, just down the coast from Marbella, and is one of the largest theme parks on the Costa del Sol. There are around 40 rides at the park, with something to suit all ages, along with magic and flamenco shows and a selection of restaurants. The park is open between March and September.
Golf
As with many other resorts on the Costa del Sol, Marbella is well positioned for those wishing to enjoy some golf on their trip abroad. There are numerous golf courses in the area to suit golfers of all abilities, including La Quinta Golf and Country Club, Cabopino Golf Club and the Rio Real Golf Club.
How to get there
Marbella is located a short distance from Malaga Airport. Numerous airlines offer filghts from the UK to Malaga, including from regional airports. Jet2 fly from airports including Newcastle and Leeds Bradford, while Flybe fly from Southampton, Exeter and Birmingham. Other airlines flying to Malaga include British Airways and Easyjet.
