Benidorm is on the Costa Blanca in Spain, and is one of the best known Spanish holiday resorts. Although known as a package resort, Benidorm has a lot to offer to all travellers, with beaches and the beautiful Costa Blanca to explore. The Puig Campana mountain overlooks the resort and provides a stunning backdrop to it. The currency in Spain is the euro.
Getting There – Benidorm Flights & Transport
Benidorm is approximately 40 miles from Alicante, which is where the nearest airport is located. Many airlines fly direct to Alicante, including Ryanair, Easyjet and bmibaby. Flybe fly from Southampton and Exeter, while Jet2 fly from Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds/Bradford.

Benidorm Beaches
Benidorm has two major beaches, the Playa Levante and Playa Poniente.
Playa Levante – Playa Levante is the most popular beach for British visitors and is a beautiful long, sandy beach that has been awarded an EU Blue Flag. The promenade behind the beach is long and flat, making for a comfortable walk along it. The beach is lined with bars and restaurants, ranging from good seafood restaurants to bars serving cheap beers.
Playa Poniente - this beach is less popular with British tourists, and is consequently significantly less crowded during the summer months. Facilities include sunbeds, watersports and cafes. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months.
Benidorm Theme Parks
Terra Mitica – Terra Mitica is the largest theme park near Benidorm and is very popular with visitors. It has waterslides and rollercoasters. The park is closed between January and March and is only open at the weekend between October and December. The park can be reached by bus from Benidorm.
Terra Natura – this park is next door to Terra Mitica and is mainly an animal park, although it does contain many rides and waterslides. The park is divided into continents to allow children to learn about animals from around the world. br>Aqualandia and Mundomar – these parks are also close to Benidorm and are very popular with famlies. Aqualandia is a massive water park and Mundomar is a marine theme park, with a spectacular dolphin show being a highlight of any visit.
Benidorm Nightlife
Benidorm is renowned for being a resort with numerous nightclubs and bars. One of the largest venues is the Benidorm Palace where an entertainment show happens nightly.
Old Town
Away from the bright lights of the beaches, the Old Town of Benidorm is well worth exploring. The quaint cobbled streets and whitewashed buildings show a totally different side to Benidorm.
