Aveiro - Holiday information

There is some great architecture to see in Aveiro, the most notable being Sé Cathedral of Aveiro. The Museum of Aveira is worth visiting, for its collection of ceramics, paintings and sculptures.

The Portuguese town Aveiro is about 1 hour from Porto and has a long and esteemed history, once being an important port.  Aveiro is distinctive due to its salt flats, lagoons and the central canal that runs through the town.  There are a series of canals that cut through the town and for this reason Aveiro is sometimes compared to Venice.  There is some great architecture to see in Aveiro, the most notable being Sé Cathedral of Aveiro.  The Museum of Aveira is worth visiting, for its collection of ceramics, paintings and sculptures.  TAP Portugal, British Airways and Ryanair all operate services from the UK to Porto Airport (OPO).
